Castleford Tigers Heritage

Welcome to Castleford Tigers Heritage website!

Castleford Tigers Centenary in 2026, when we celebrate 100 years as a top flight rugby league club, is also the year of launch of our heritage website.

The first Castleford Tigers Heritage project in 2017 started after funding from a Heritage Lottery grant, which aimed to record some of the history of the club before a proposed move to a new stadium. When the project was completed, further documenting took a back seat until 2024, when the group was set up again to ensure the forthcoming centenary of the club was properly celebrated. We work with the club and will continue together to produce a full history and archive of Castleford RLFC/Castleford Tigers.

This website is a live home for a continuing story of the club. Keep visiting us via the Tiger’s website HERITAGE tab as we expand on the rich history of the Castleford club, which has always been a flagship for the town and a focus for local pride and camaraderie.

From 17 February and beyond the full 100 years statistical database is available for all to see. Investigate matches, players, records and other interesting facts here.

This enormous volume of work has been collated over years by The Garbett family and Norman Carr comparing and agreeing their own records. We can now share their efforts for everyone to benefit.
