He was the first Castleford player to play for Great Britain since Bernard Cunniffe and Jim Croston in 1937. The second picture is of Peter Small modelling his cap.

It contained all the sporting results from that day with reports of local teams. The articles reads, "Peter Small, the 22 year old Castleford centre who is one of the surprise selections for the Australasian tour, belies his name for he is close to 6ft and weighs 14½ st. He comes from Airedale, having been born within a mile of the Wheldon Road ground. Castleford signed him from Allerton, the Juniou R.L. club, about 5 years ago.
