Players' Playing Records

Select one of the following sub-menu options to display statistics for either the squad or a specific Player:

• Total Appearance Summary by a specific Player
  Displays a summary of a Player's appearance statistics during their time with the Club including:
  • First Name (if present)
  • Last Name
  • Nickname (if present)
  • Date of Birth (if known)
  • Club Heritage Number
  • Player's photograph (if one exists in the database)
  • Appearance Dates (Debut and Last Match played in with the Club to date)
  • Number of Full Appearances
  • Number of Appearances as a Substitute
  • Number of Tries/Goals/Drop-goals/Total Points Scored whilst at the Club
  • Where the player originally signed from
  • Where they transferred to after leaving the Club (if known)
  • Any specific Notes about the Player.
• Details of each Appearance made by a Player within a specific Date Range
  Displays details of every Appearance made by a specific Player within a particular date range. Information displayed includes:
  • Match Date
  • The Match Result
  • Sponsor/Competition/Round
  • Whether the Player made a Full Appearance or was a Substitiue
  • The Number of Tries/Goals/Drop-goals scored in the match.
  
  At the foot of the report is a summary by shirt number of the Player's performance over the entire date range, showing their number of appearances, tries, goals and drop-goals.
• Career Milestones and Significant Scores in a Match by a Player
  Displays a list of significant statistics for the specified Player. Significant statistics include Career milestones reached e.g. 1000 career points reached etc. and Scores within a match e.g. 10 or more goals scored. The following details are displayed:
  • First Name (if present)
  • Last Name, Nickname (if present)
  • Date of Birth (if known)
  • Club Heritage Number
  • Player's photograph (if one exists in the database)
  • Appearance Dates (Debut and Last Match played in with the Club to date)
  • A list of Signifcant Statistics throughout the Player's career with the Club
• Match or Career Achievements by Players
  Displays a list of Players who gained significant career achievements e.g. Hall of Fame Inductee, Man of Steel etc. or were awarded Man of the Match in a Final e.g. Lance Todd Trophy winner.
• Squad Members used & Points they Scored within a specific Date Range
  Displays details of each Player who played for during a specific Date Range e.g. over a Season. Information displayed includes:
  • Player's photograph (if one exists in the database)
  • First Name (if present)
  • Last Name
  • Nickname (if present)
  • Date of Birth (if known)
  • Club Heritage Number
  • Debut Date
  • Last Match played in with the Club to date
  • Number of Full Appearances
  • Number of Appearances as a Substitute.
• Appearance Summary for All Players
  Displays a summary of every Player's Appearance statistics since the Club joined The Northern Rugby Football League in 1926/27 including:
  • First Name (if present)
  • Last Name
  • Nickname (if present)
  • Date of Birth (if known)
  • Club Heritage Number
  • Player's photograph (if one exists in the database)
  • Debut Date
  • Last Match played in with the Club to date
  • Number of Full Appearances
  • Number of Appearances as a Substitute
  • Number of Tries/Goals/Drop-goals/Total Points Scored whilst at the Club
  • Any specific notes about the Player.
• Shirt Numbers worn by each Player within a specific Date Range
  Displays a table of all Players and the positions they have played in within a specific Date Range. Information displayed includes:
  • Player's photograph (if one exists in the database)
  • First Name (if present)
  • Last Name
  • Nickname (if present)
  • Date of Birth (if known)
  • Club Heritage Number
  • Debut Date
  • Last Match played in with the Club to date
  • Number of Full Appearances
  • Number of Appearances as a Substitute.
• Players with a specific Date of Birth
  The Date of Birth is not known for every player. However, for those Player's where a Date of Birth has been recorded, a list is displayed for every Player with the specified Day Number and Month. More details can then be requested for one of the identified players including:
  • First Name (if present)
  • Last Name
  • Nickname (if present)
  • Date of Birth
  • Club Heritage Number
  • Player's photograph (if one exists in the database)
  • Debut Date
  • Last Match played in with the Club to date
  • Number of Full Appearances
  • Number of Appearances as a Substitute
  • Number of Tries/Goals/Drop-goals/Total Points Scored whilst at the Club
  • Any specific notes about the Player.
• Appearance Record for every Player who Debuted within a specific Date Range
  Displays details of each Player who played their first game for a within a specific Date Range including:
  • Player's photograph (if one exists in the database)
  • First Name (if present)
  • Last Name
  • Nickname (if present)
  • Date of Birth (if known)
  • Club Heritage Number
  • Debut Date
  • Last Match played in with the Club to date
  • Number of Full Appearances
  • Number of Appearances as a Substitute.
• Appearance Record for every Player whose Last Match To Date is within a specific Date Range
  Displays details of each Player who played their last game to date for within a specific Date Range including:
  • Player's photograph (if one exists in the database)
  • First Name (if present)
  • Last Name
  • Nickname (if present)
  • Date of Birth (if known)
  • Club Heritage Number
  • Debut Date
  • Last Match played in with the Club to date
  • Number of Full Appearances
  • Number of Appearances as a Substitute.
• Career Totals for every Player by Season
  Every Player, who has made at least one appearance, is displayed in alphabetical order. The list, totalled by Season and Career during their time with the Club, display the following:
  • Player's photograph (if one exists in the database)
  • First Name (if present)
  • Last Name
  • Nickname (if present)
  • Club Heritage Number
  For each Season, the following totals are displayed:
  • Season (eg 1926-27 or 2024)
  • Appearances
  • Substitue Appearances
  • Total Appearances (the sume of the previous two columns)
  • Tries Scored, in the format X @ Y pts e.g. 3 @ 4pts
  • Goals Kicked, in the format X @ Y pts e.g. 12 @ 2pts
  • Drop-goals scored, in the format X @ Y pts e.g. 4 @ 1pt
  • Total Points Scored (the sum of the previous three columns)
  Career totals are then displayed, which is the sum of all the Season Totals above.
• Club Record Try, Goal & Points Scorers in a Season
  This report displays in, chronological order, every player who held the record for scoring either the most tries, the most goals or the most points in a season. When the total number of tries, goals or points scored by a player in a season becomes higher than the previous record, a new line, showing the next record holder is displayed.
  It begins by displaying the players who scored the most tries, most goals and most points in the Club's first season. Then each line displays the next record breaker as follows:
  • Name of the Player who is now the New Record Holder and their (Heritage No.)
  • Season e.g. 1927-28
  • Most Tries in a Season
  • Most Goals in a Season
  • Most Points in a Season
  The report ends by summarising who the current record holders are for most tries, most goals and most points in a season.

Match Fixture Statistics

Select one of the following sub-menu options to display statistics for specific matches involving Castleford Tigers

• Matches within a specific Date Range
  Displays details of all matches involving in the specified date range. The search criteria may be narrowed to display Home, Away or Home and Away match details.
• Matches against a specific Opponent
  Displays details of all matches played between and a specified opposing team. The search criteria may be narrowed to display Home, Away or Home and Away match details.
• Matches in a specific Competition
  Displays details of all matches involving in a particular Competition within a specified date range. The search criteria may be narrowed to display Home, Away or Home and Away match details.
• Win/Loss Ratio within a specific Date Range
  Displays details of the Win/Loss ratio over a specific period of time. The search criteria may be narrowed to display Home, Away or Home and Away match details.
• Average Gate Attendance within specific Date Range
  Displays details of the average Gate Attendances over a specific period of time. The search criteria may be narrowed to display Home, Away or Home and Away match details. The average gate attendance of all matches listed is then calculated.
• Red and Yellow Cards Issued within a specific Date Range
  Displays details of matches where Red and Yellow Cards were handed out. The search criteria may be narrowed to display Home, Away or Home and Away match details and may be limited to a specific Competition.

Referees

• Referee's Appearances in Matches involving Cas
  Displays the details of each match where the specified referee took charge within a given date range.

Seasons

Select one of the following sub-menu options to display information relevant to each season:

• League Table
  Look at the final League Table for a specific season in the league Competition that took part in.
• Commentary
  Displays significant information about on a season by season basis.
• Search Commentary for Keyword(s)
  Displays a list of comments, season by season, that contains at least one of the entered keywords.
• Top Points Scorers and Highest Appearance Record
  Displays the highest Try, Goal and Points Scorer(s) in the specified Season as well as the Player(s) with the most Appearances.

Database Overview

This website provides access to an interactive database of the teams and scorers in every match involving Castleford Tigers (formerly Castleford RLFC) since they joined The Northern Rugby Football League for the 1926-27 season.

Statistics have been recorded for each player during their career with Castleford RLFC/Castleford Tigers.

Every competitive match involving Castleford RLFC/Castleford Tigers is available for interrogation.

An interactive Season Summary section is available displaying League Tables, Top Scorers in each Season and Season Commentaries.

To access the database records for a specific player or match, click/tap the Navigation Menu Icon () in the top left corner of the screen.

Database Structure

The two main tables in the database are MATCHES and PLAYERS. The following tables hold lookup information which is used by these three main tables: TEAMS, REFEREES, COMPETITIONS, ROUNDS, SPONSORS

Any Season's final LEAGUE TABLE since 1926-27 can be viewed, featuring Castleford's finishing position, along with those teams that made the end-of-season play-offs. A COMMENTARY of any Season can also be requested along with the Season's TOP PERFORMERS i.e. Top Try Scorer, Top Goal Scorer, Top Points Scorer and Player with Most Appearances.
