Navigation Menu Help

Assistance is available on every page. The help is contextual; it will explain the function of the current page and how to enter data into the forms that provide the interaction with the database. Click/tap the help icon in the top right corner of the page. The Help tab scrolls in from the right. To close the Help tab, click/tap the × found at the top of the left edge of the Help tab. To open the Help half distance, click/tap on ½. To open the Help full width, click/tap on the <.

Navigation around the website is provided by accessing the Navigation Menu. Click/tap on the menu icon on the left edge of the black Navigation Bar. The Menu tab will scroll in from the left edge of the page. To close the Menu tab, click/tap the × found at in the top right corner of the Menu tab. Click/tap any of the Menu Items to navigate around the web site. Clicking on a Menu Items that is followed by a down-arrow will open a sub-menu, which will stay open until the up-arrow is clicked again.

To run one of the eight most popular reports, click/tap one of the options below. For other reports use the Navigation Menu in the top left .

REPORTS ON PLAYERS
Displays the specifed player's full career summary (tries, goals points scored, debut & last match date etc.) & heritage number. Options to include details of every match appearance, any career milestones and any representative appearances.	Lists all appearances, tries, goals and points totals per season for all players since 1926.	Lists all players' career recognition awards eg Man of Steel, Dream Team, Hall of Fame etc. or all players who either scored 3 or more tries in a match or kicked at least 10 goals in a match.	Lists appearance summaries (tries, goals, points scored etc) for all players who made an appearance within a specified date range.
REPORTS ON MATCHES & SEASONS
Lists all matches in a specified date range (teams, scorers etc.) with options to limit the search to a specific Competition and/or specific Opponent (home or away fixtures or both).	Average attendance within a specified date range for home and away matches in each Competition.	Lists matches that were officiated by the specified referee within a given date range. Displays the number of red or yellow cards issued per match.	Displays the final league table for a specified season. Option to view the squad, debutants, or players making their last appearance. Options to display the season's top scorer(s) & appearance maker(s) & view a season commentary. NB If the current season has not ended, then specifying the current season will produce an error; the current season's statistics will only become available once the season is complete.

Players

Select one of the following sub-menu options to display statistics for either a single player or a squad:

• Specified player’s full Career Summary (tries, goals, points etc.) and heritage number. Options to list appearance details for each match, career milestones and representative details
  Displays the specifed player's full career summary (tries, goals points scored, debut & last match date etc.) & heritage number., with options to include details of every match appearance, any career milestones and any representative appearances.
  
  Specify a player's name to display the player's appearance summary, every match appearance, milestones reached & any representative appearances including:
  • First Name (if present)
  • Last Name
  • Nickname (if present)
  • Date of Birth (if known)
  • Club Heritage Number
  • Player's photograph (if one exists in the database)
  • Appearance Dates (Debut and Last Match played in with the Club to date)
  • Number of Full Appearances
  • Number of Appearances as a Substitute
  • Number of Tries/Goals/Drop-goals/Total Points Scored whilst at the Club
  • Where the player originally signed from
  • Where they transferred to after leaving the Club (if known)
  • Any specific Notes about the Player.
  Button allow navigation to the Player's Match Appearance Details, Milestones reached by the Player and Representative Appearance Details.
• Appearances, tries, goals and points totals for each season for all players since 1926
  Lists all appearances, tries, goals and points totals per season for all players since 1926.
  
  Display an appearance summary by season in alphabetical order for every player who has made at least one appearance since 1926. The list, totalled by Season and Career during their time with the Club, display the following:
  • Player's photograph (if one exists in the database)
  • First Name (if present)
  • Last Name
  • Nickname (if present)
  • Club Heritage Number
  For each Season, the following totals are displayed:
  • Season (eg 1926-27 or 2024)
  • Appearances
  • Substitue Appearances
  • Total Appearances (the sume of the previous two columns)
  • Tries Scored, in the format X @ Y pts e.g. 3 @ 4pts
  • Goals Kicked, in the format X @ Y pts e.g. 12 @ 2pts
  • Drop-goals scored, in the format X @ Y pts e.g. 4 @ 1pt
  • Total Points Scored (the sum of the previous three columns)
  Career totals are displayed at the end of each Player's Appearance Statistics, which is the sum of all the Season Totals above.
• All players match & career recognition awards eg. Man of Steel, Hall of Fame etc or all players who, in a match, either scored try hat-tricks and better or kicked 10+ goals
  List all players' match and career recognition awards eg Man of Steel, Dream Team, Hall of Fame etc. or all players who either scored 3 or more tries in a match or kicked at least 10 goals in a match.
  
  Select a Recognition Type to display all players who were award winners e.g. Man of Steel, Dream Team, Hall of Fame, Player of the Match in Cup Finals or players who, in a match, scored try Hat-tricks and better or 10+ goals.
• List appearance summaries (tries, goals, points scored etc) for all players who made an appearance during a specified date range
  Lists appearance summaries for all players who made at least one appearance during a specified date range.
  
  Display appearance statistics for each member of the squad during a specific date range. Information displayed includes:
  • Player's photograph (if one exists in the database)
  • First Name (if present)
  • Last Name
  • Nickname (if present)
  • Date of Birth (if known)
  • Club Heritage Number
  • Debut Date
  • Last Match played in with the Club to date
  • Number of Full Appearances
  • Number of Appearances as a Substitute.
• Shirt Numbers worn by each player within a specified date range
  Display an appearance summary for all players and the positions they have played in - identified by shirt number - within your specified date range. Information displayed includes:
  • Player's photograph (if one exists in the database)
  • First Name (if present)
  • Last Name
  • Nickname (if present)
  • Date of Birth (if known)
  • Club Heritage Number
  • Debut Date
  • Last Match played in with the Club to date
  • Number of Full Appearances
  • Number of Appearances as a Substitute.
• Appearance summary for all players with a specified date of birth
  The Date of Birth is not known for every player. However, for those Player's where a Date of Birth has been recorded, this report displays an appearance summary for every player with a specified date of birth. More details can then be requested for one of the identified players including:
  • First Name (if present)
  • Last Name
  • Nickname (if present)
  • Date of Birth
  • Club Heritage Number
  • Player's photograph (if one exists in the database)
  • Debut Date
  • Last Match played in with the Club to date
  • Number of Full Appearances
  • Number of Appearances as a Substitute
  • Number of Tries/Goals/Drop-goals/Total Points Scored whilst at the Club
  • Any specific notes about the Player.
  Button allow navigation to the Player's Match Appearance Details, Milestones reached by the Player and Representative Appearance Details.
• Appearance summary for all players whose debut or last match date is within the specified date range
  Display an appearance summary for every player who either made their debut or played their final match for Castleford within your specified date range including:
  • Player's photograph (if one exists in the database)
  • First Name (if present)
  • Last Name
  • Nickname (if present)
  • Date of Birth (if known)
  • Club Heritage Number
  • Debut Date
  • Last Match played in with the Club to date
  • Number of Full Appearances
  • Number of Appearances as a Substitute.
• Club record try, goal & points scorers in a season
  Display all players who have held the record for scoring the most tries, most goals & most points in a season.
  It begins by displaying the players who scored the most tries, most goals and most points in the Club's first season. Then each line displays the next record breaker as follows:
  • Name of the Player who is now the New Record Holder and their (Heritage No.)
  • Season e.g. 1927-28
  • Most Tries in the Season
  • Most Goals in the Season
  • Most Points in the Season
  The report ends by summarising who the current record holders are for most tries, most goals and most points in a season.

Matches

Select one of the following sub-menu options to display statistics for specific matches involving Castleford Tigers

• List all matches in a specified date range (teams, scorers etc.) with options to specify Competition and/or Opponent (home or away fixtures)
  Display Home and/or Away Matches within a specified Date Range. Options to show a specific Opponent and/or a specific Competition.
• Average attendance within a specified date range for home and away matches in each Competition
  Displays the average attendance for all matches within a specified date range for each Competition at home, away, or both.
• Red and Yellow cards shown in each match within a specified date range
  Displays details of matches where players were sent off or sin-binned within a specified Date Range.

Referees

• List all match appearances made by a referee within a date range, showing any cards or sendings off issued by the specifed referee
  Lists matches that were officiated by the specified referee within a given date range. Displays the number of red or yellow cards issued per match.

Seasons

• Final league table for a specified season. Option to view the squad, debutants, or players making their last appearance. Options to display the season's top scorer & appearance maker & view a season commentary
  Displays the final league table for a specified season. Option to view the squad, debutants or players making their last appearance. Option to see who was the season's top scorer(s) and appearance maker(s). Option to view a season commentary.
• Search each season's commentary for specific keyword(s)
  Search for Keyword(s) in each season's commentary and display any comments that contains at least one of the specified keywords.

Database Overview

This website provides access to an interactive database of the teams and scorers in every match involving Castleford Tigers (formerly Castleford RLFC) since they joined The Northern Rugby Football League for the 1926-27 season.

Statistics have been recorded for each player during their career with Castleford RLFC/Castleford Tigers.

Every competitive match involving Castleford RLFC/Castleford Tigers is available for interrogation.

An interactive Season Summary section is available displaying League Tables, Top Scorers in each Season and Season Commentaries.

To access the database records for a specific player or match, click/tap the Navigation Menu Icon in the top left corner of the screen.

Database Structure

The two main tables in the database are MATCHES and PLAYERS. The following tables hold lookup information which is used by these tow main tables: TEAMS, COMPETITIONS, ROUNDS, SPONSORS, REFEREES.

Any Season's final LEAGUE TABLE since 1926-27 can be viewed, featuring Castleford's finishing position, along with those teams that made the end-of-season play-offs. A COMMENTARY of any Season can also be requested along with the Season's TOP PERFORMERS i.e. Top Try Scorer, Top Goal Scorer, Top Points Scorer and Player with Most Appearances.
